Sashane McDonald

Biography Overview

Sashane McDonald earned her Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Previously, she received her Master of Science degree in criminal justice and criminology from the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Prior to her higher education, Sashane graduated with high honors from the University of the West Indies where she received her Bachelor of Laws degree. 

Sashane has been an attorney for more than 15 years, and has been practicing in Florida for the past 3 years, where she is of counsel to Nation Lawyers. Her primary practice areas are Criminal Law, Family Law and Immigration. She has worked at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor where she developed her jury trial skills to handle felony and misdemeanor cases. 

Previously, Sashane was Associate Professor of Law for over 8 years at the University of the West Indies and University of the Bahamas where she taught criminal and property law. While in Jamaica, she also served as a prosecutor in the Magistrate’s Court of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution in Kingston. In that position, she represented the Crown in criminal cases including murder, statutory rape, and sexual offenses. In addition to being licensed to practice law in the State of Florida, Sashane is also a member of the Caribbean Bar as well as licensed as a real estate sales associate. In her spare time, Sashane loves learning new languages and speaks Spanish fluently and conversational French.
